There has been a powercut in a village in Lincolnshire after a thong shortcircuited a power line!
The underwear managed to get lodged in the power lines after it had been tied to a helium balloon, getting stuck and soaked in the rain causing the powercut.
It affected more than a dozen houses and also a set of traffic lights, where the police had to redirect the traffic.
It is believed that the thong and the balloon came from a local Polo party, from Leadenham Polo Club who have a ball every year.
Emma Rose, from Leadenham Polo Club stated, ‘ It may never be proven where the thong came from but it may have been our party. ‘
‘ We think it may have been a joke, with someone taking the item from an overnight bag and setting it on its way.’
